Meet Nekaybaw Brooks, a dynamic entrepreneur who transitioned from being a dedicated middle school teacher for six years to pursuing her passion for braiding. Originally from Newport News, VA, Nekaybaw graduated with bachelor of arts and master of teaching degree from the University of Virginia in 2016 and obtained a master of education degree from the College of William and Mary in 2019. She then relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2020 and launched her own business, Braids by Kayba.

What began as a hobby evolved into a full-time venture, where she now focuses on teaching braiding techniques, with her renowned Braid Camp classes gaining popularity. Nekaybaw's vision is to inspire creativity and confidence in others through her expertise, encouraging them to embrace their talents and pursue their dreams fearlessly.
